After a couple hours of getting declines after completing surveys and not getting paid, I lost it and beat up my 7 year old girl.

Any reasonable person would be angry by a JOB they didn't get paid for. Look up the literal definition of a job. It is you doing something to get paid for it. It doesn't matter if you are a contractor, on a salary, or a freelancer. You do a JOB and the person that took you in just decides not to pay, yet gets all the benefits of your work? If this happened in person you would file a lawsuit like I am planning to.
