ART

Survey taking is an art. Experience or nifty tips and tricks you pick up here and there can make both your experience and profitability much better. Here, I will layout my personal guide based on improving your survey skills.

MY PERSONAL FAVORITE SITE:

First and foremost, I recommend using many different sites so you can gouge the best rates per minute of your time on each one. There are conventional "survey" sites, like Dscout, Respondent, Prolific, etc, but I consider these to be more so study applications than survey sites.

This leads me to you guys and QMEE – ref | non-ref

Why Qmee is my favorite

I'll keep this section brief because nobody is here to hear me stroke Qmee's ego. What I will say is that Qmee offers high rates / minute of your time at a more consistent level than any other survey site I could find, with the additional benefit of having INSTANT PayPal payouts. As someone that has withdrawn over 50 times, I can attest that each PayPal withdrawal hit my account in under 5 minutes.

OPTIMIZE YOUR EARNINGS

Choosing what surveys to take

My general rule of thumb for choosing surveys that are worth your time, is to choose ones that payout at a 10 cent / minute rate. Quick math tells us that 10 cents x 60 minutes = 600 cents = $6 per hour. While this is definitely below a living wage in the US, just remember we are going to increase this base rate using some tips 'n tricks we know. If there is any survey above this rate, take the highest paying one you can, immediately, they DO NOT last. You can occasionally take surveys that offer less than 10 cents a minute if the survey business is slow at the time. This is because we will get you over that $6 per hour mark anyways.

Start learning your survey providers

Different survey providers have different Disqualification Rates (henceforth referred to as DQ), and different little quirks to them. For example, for every Pollfish survey on Qmee, the third question asked is always going to be a "Somewhat Disagree" security check. Use this to your advantage. If you know when security checks are coming, you can hasten your responses without worrying about DQ. Furthermore, certain providers such as Cint, rarely DQ and offer much higher rates, verus ones' like Samplifico that often DQ and offer lower rates. You don't need to micro-analyze all of this, just take a mental note of them.

Aim to take 33% less time than recommended

33% might seem like an arbitrary number, and to some degree, it is. This is just the number that I personally have found to be the best balance between DQs and increasing earnings / minute. If a survey recommends you finish it in 10 minutes, but you finish it in 5, you will be DQ more often than not and declined payout, which is annoying. However, if you aim to finish it in 7 minutes, you are actually very unlikely to get DQed, and you increased your earnings per minute by 30%. Insert strategic breaks, where you drink some water or eat a snack into your survey, so as to artificially reach that 33% less time mark. Go fast, but just not too fast as to raise alarms in the providers algorithm. It's you versus the algorithm at the end of the day.

Build a better profile

I am not advocating for lying during surveys, I personally, do not do such a thing, and would "NEVER", "EVER" think of doing such a thing. This being said, most surveys' are looking for specific things in people. For example: A survey starts to mention coffee questions very early on in the survey, you drink coffee maybe once a month. Click the box that says once a week to lower your odds of being DQed. Furthermore, any survey that asks you to list things that you do (select all that apply) at the beginning of the survey, you're just going to want to click on everything you can (other than trap questions like "went to the moon"). This is because they are attempting to weed you out in this question and they won't be able to, because you do everything! Remember, ONLY, do this if you ACTUALLY, do EVERYTHING, "OF COURSE" ;).

TL'DR, understand the framing of surveys, and what they are looking for, and become that demographic.

MATH

Personally, I have made about $120 in the past week on about 10 hours of work on Qmee. $12/hr isn't minimum wage but it also is very good for survey work. You will not make this rate at first. It just won't happen. It's taken me 2 months of learning and lurking subreddits to optimize my game. However, you can boost your earnings, so let us review some examples:

There is a $1.50 survey available for 15 minutes of your time. This is about 10 cents / minute at the standard rate. We know the provider is Pollfish, so we know where some of the security questions are, and we can "push" through this survey and complete it about 33%-40% faster than expected. Let's say we finish this survey in 9 minutes. Now we just earned $1.50 in 9 minutes. $1.50 / 9 = 16.667 cents per minute x 60 minutes = $10 / hr. Now THAT, is good. This is just one example, you can occasionally find $2+ surveys for the same time frame if you are lucky, those are always amazing towards boosting your earnings.

One of my personal favorite surveys is the 50-60 cents for 5-6 minutes. These are generally pretty frequent, not always there, but consistent enough. The reason these surveys are my favorite is because the algorithm is less strict, meaning you CAN complete these in about half the time and NOT get DQed. Any low minute survey can be done in about half the time and be fine. This means that on a 50 cent 5 minute survey, if you complete it in 5 minutes, you get 10 cents per minute. However, if you take half the time, you double those earnings to 20 cents per minute. 20 cents per minute x 60 minutes = $12 / hr. Amazing rates

IN CONCLUSION

Many of these tips i laid out work for sites other than Qmee as well, I am in no way or shape or form paid by Qmee to post this (other than my referral link if you want :D). I hope, if you are a beginner, intermediate, or expert, that you gathered some piece of information from this, and let me know some of your tips and tricks and thoughts in the comments please!
