Here’s what /u/ediellipsis has to say about it:
My experiences with a few sites I like the best for surveys. I update details of my experiences as they change, every month or so. Roughly in order of preference:
OCTOPUS SURVEYS
Typical payment/length: $1.40 for 5 mins; $2.80 for 10 mins. Frequency: I get offered an average of 4-6 per week, but often at least one is a pureprofile survey I get disqualified from for already having completed. Some people seem to get offered a lot less, so it may depend on your demographics.
Minimum withdrawal: $20 Maximum withdrawal: $100 per day for gift cards. No limit stated for cash. Giftcards get a 4% discount and process faster which is nice
Payment options: Bank account deposit, giftpay egift vouchers (can swap for Woolies, Coles, etc) Payment time: Giftcards instant. Bank requests by Saturday midnight processed the following Monday.
Notifications when surveys available: Email, and app notification.
App/Web: Web is good. App is fine, but just opens up a link in a browser so you're always doing it in a browser.
Disqualify reward: Typically 10 cents, can vary.
Notes: Claim “ highest survey cash rate in Australia” although Humaniti pay very close for surveys and pay better for disqualifying. Octopus also send a newsletter and pay if you read it, which is nice, although the frequency of the newsletter seems to have dropped from monthly to maybe a couple of times a year. Their support team are really quick to respond to emails, which is also good compared to some other sites (pureprofile tickets take forever)
My referral code: https://my.octopusgroup.com.au/register/2ba2ebcc-8f2a-44b1-8877-fc73debc1e05 Reward Referee – $1.12 welcome survey – must complete to receive reward.
Referrer – $2 per new person that registers and $1 for the next 23 successful surveys
PUREPROFILE
Typical payment/length: $1.60 for 10 mins; $2.40 for 15 mins.
Frequency: I get offered 8-10 per day, though mostly I qualify for only 4 or 5. They have become quite competitive in the last year. They also introduced lower paid ‘partner’ surveys if you scroll down to the bottom of the app (e.g. $1 for 10 minutes), so they may be becoming a bit like QMEE and Poll Pay with variable payrates. The partner ones are always at the very bottom, and they also start with a C in the survey number.
Minimum withdrawal: Minimum $20.
Maximum withdrawal: No maximum
Payment options: Bank account deposit, prezzee egift vouchers (can swap for Woolworths, Coles etc ) Payment time: Gift Cards are immediate. Bank deposits take 20 – 30 days – they are serious, it does take that long.
App/Web: Both app and web portal very user friendly, probably the best app of the lot, it just looks really good on mobile, very easy to read and use on the bus.
Notifications when surveys available?: 1 email per day with a list of surveys. App doesn’t have notifications
Disqualify reward: 10 cents. Notes: Can also choose to receive entries into competitions, I usually choose that so can’t speak for that.
Notes Last year they changed from a limit to unlimited cashout , and I think it has made the app a lot more competitive.
My referral link: http://referral.pureprofile.com/referrer/Tnpnd05UVXpORGs0OCMyMw== Reward $2 for referrer and a bonus if they meet minimum activity in 3 months).
SURVEY VILLAGE
Typical payment/length: $0.30 for 30 seconds, $1.92 for 12 mins; $75 for 60 minutes Frequency: I get offered an average of 2 surveys per week, and occasionally they lead to 1 – 2 hours focus groups / online forums paying more like $80 – $150
Minimum withdrawal: $20 Maximum withdrawal: Not stated
Payment options: eFlexi gift vouchers (can swap for Woolies, Coles, etc) Payment time: Giftcards instant
Notifications when surveys available: Email
App/Web: Web
Disqualify reward: 5 cents
Notes: Joined last year from a link in someone’s post and it has been good and very consistent. Not many surveys, but when they do come they are always decently paying, and the real value is online focus groups which seem to be their thing. My referral code: https://surveyvillage.com.au/#refer?refid=5ef42a22-2967-4a71-a9cd-e92c4e19e3e2 Reward 50% per survey for referrer, up to $20.
QMEE
Typical payment / length: Very variable from awful to great – between 40 cents – $3.00 for 10 minutes. I think they are a middleman to other survey sites, and it depends based on where the survey originates from.
Frequency: If I open the app there is always like 5 surveys sitting there, but not always something decent. I get maybe 4 good ones a day at the moment.
Minimum withdrawal: $1, which is great. Maximum withdrawal: No maximum
Payment options: Paypal only – app says gift cards are an option but if I click it nothing happens Payment time: Very quick, within a few minutes
Notifications when surveys available: It sends one or two a day for ‘hot surveys’ – the best match to your profile. App: App is pretty good.
Disqualify reward: Nothing predictable. Sometimes I get nothing, sometimes I get 50 cents. It might vary based on where the survey originally comes from. Notes: There is one trivia question a day with a 3 cent reward. Do it daily and increases your payments by 10%.
They also have gaming offers – payment for downloading an app and getting to a certain level. If I am sick of surveys, I do these sometimes. they do work but you either have to be prepared to play a game multiple times a day for a month, or spend cash in game to meet the criteria to get a reward. Search reddit, you can find good completion guides for most games as these offers seem to also be offered on other apps popular in the US. For android users it can be a way to turn your google play credit into actual cash if you have lots of credit from google rewards.
My referral link: http://qm.ee/473BS6RKFHVYC Reward 50 cents for referree, 50 cents for referrer. You have to sign up on the website (mobile browser ok), not via the app to get the credit, but you can then download the app later if you want.
OTHERS The collection of stuff I tried and didn’t like, or that doesn’t accept new users anymore:
I have enjoyed my experience with Humaniti, and posted about them in the past but in May they sent out an email saying they’re closed to new members for a while, which is a pity, but nice for existing members I guess to make sure you get a decent amount of surveys.
Pollpay I have posted about in the past, but have had not much good through them in the last 3 months so I don’t both checking the app anymore really. Similar to QMEE, with surveys from a variety of places with a variety of payrates, but lately all I seem to get offered is really low paying ones. They used to have these fun ones watching movie trailers and giving feedback and I have not got one of those in ages.
I joined Purkle in November 22, after reading some people having good experiences. I’ve only had a $1 welcome survey, they’ve sent nothing at all since that, still. I even went back in after a few made sure my profile was all up to date, and i have still had no surveys in a year. I guess I am really not the demographic they are looking for. I’ve been trying prolific too, but so far same experience, never get sent stuff or if I do get a notification I log in and its already gone.
Last year I tried Attapoll based on posts in this sub that recommended it but seems very similar to QMEE and Pollpay in that it is very variable – a big range of surveys from different sources with pay rates from very very bad to average. Like Pollpay it is so rare for me to see a decent-paying one, I don’t really check it anymore. I tried Swagbucks around the same time and same thing but even worse, some are like 17 cents for 10 minutes.
More than a year ago I tried MyOpinions and had a bad experience, my account was banned just as I reached the $10 payment threshold and I never saw any money (and I don’t think I broke any rules). I’ve seen bad reviews with the same stolen money experience, and good reviews from people who like it, so seems to be a roll of the dice.
